BioHi to all that visit!
I write teen and middle-grade lit. My first published book was ghostwritten (boo) for American Girl. It was called The End of the Race (book #12 in the Wild at Heart series, (created by LH Anderson) about kids who volunteer at a vet clinic. My book was about the seamier side of Greyhound racing.
Then came my breakout book, a teen historical fiction called Refugees (Delacorte) about the friendship between an Afghan boy and an American girl in the fall of 2001. It received a featured review and "Story Behind the Story" interview in Booklist, and was chosen as a "Best Book for Teens, 2006" by the NY Public Library.
My story, The Fashion Contest, in a book called Be Careful What You Wish For, comes out in November 2007, through Scholastic Book Club.
I teach creative writing at the New School in NYC (teen and mid-grade fiction/spring semester), and do author visits. Check out my website for details!
